UX Flows
Designing this UX flow was a challenge in balancing smooth matchmaking with a spatial 3D lobby experience. The goal was to minimize loading times and transitions while keeping players informed and engaged. We had to account for different matchmaking outcomes; joining live lobbies, creating new ones, network latency and keeping party members together, all while managing readiness states and countdowns.
After each playtest we asked players to complete a structured feedback form covering clarity of lobby interactions, perceived wait times, ease of finding and joining lobbies, and overall satisfaction. This mixed‑method approach combined quantitative ratings (e.g., Likert scales for clarity and pacing) with qualitative, open‑ended questions to capture nuanced insights. We used anonymized responses, categorized feedback themes, and cross‑referenced player sentiment with in‑game telemetry, which helped us identify friction points and iterate on the design.
