This illustration was inspired by this particular episode from The Sopranos. Paulie Walnuts finally travels to Italy only to discover that his paesanos look down on him just as he looks down on everybody else. Of course he never admits it and returns home assuring the trip was all he ever hoped for. I thought it was worth capturing his lifestyle makeup attitude as a classic Art Nouveau poster for a fake coffee brand… and then print it on coffee mugs.
